Abstract

Prejudice and racism in the contemporary society still presents a major problem especially to students of color in learning institutions. These biases result in social, psychological, and academic concerns that may manifest as, for instance, microaggression, teachers’ biases, and policies that perpetuate inequality. In this paper, the authors endeavored to examine the ways that discrimination and xenophobia impact the students of color regarding their psychological and academic well-being and social relationships. The present work highlights the findings of the student of colour, discuss the strategies for tackling these problems, and develop the policies to enhance the diversity and multiculturalism in education according to the recent literature.
