This study explores the application of solar energy and building integration technology in residential buildings in Nigeria, highlighting their potentials for energy efficiency and sustainability. Various solar technologies, including solar thermal, photovoltaic, and optical, are examined for their suitability in residential buildings. Building design and construction strategies that optimize solar energy absorption are also discussed. The study recommends incorporating solar energy systems into building design, evaluating suitable technologies, and implementing energy-efficient systems to maximize benefits. Policy incentives, education, and energy storage solutions are also addressed. The findings suggest that integrating solar energy and building technology can create sustainable, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly homes for a better future.
