Abstract
This systematic review explores the intricate landscape of cybersecurity threats and solutions within healthcare IT, emphasizing the escalating cyber threats such as malware, ransomware, phishing, and insider attacks that jeopardize patient safety, data privacy, and healthcare operations. Through a comprehensive analysis, the review identifies key technological solutions—including encryption, firewalls, and anomaly detection systems—and highlights the critical role of cybersecurity awareness and training for healthcare professionals. It advocates for a proactive and comprehensive cybersecurity risk management strategy, underscoring the necessity of adapting cybersecurity measures in response to rapid technological advancements in healthcare. The review calls for increased investment in cybersecurity, fostering a culture of security awareness, and collaboration across the sector to enhance resilience against evolving cyber threats, ultimately ensuring the protection of healthcare systems and patient data in the digital era.
