Abstract

In this article, we examined the concept of the Transient Energy Function approach to power system transient stability analysis or direct method, originally suggested by Aleksandr Mikhailovich Lyapunov in his dissertation published in 1892. Leveraging the real-time possibility of the direct method, this research article presented a Modified Transient Energy Function (MTEF) approach based purely on real-time parameters of the power system network using simplified physics and mathematical modeling. The developed MTEF model or the alternative model proved to be clearer and easily adaptable to real-time control systems.
