Abstract

This paper presents an Optical Communication System capable of transmitting multi-format data, including text and images, through laser technology. The system utilises an Arduino for signal modulation and a solar panel as the receiver, effectively demonstrating a cost-efficient and accessible method for optical communication. Text data is first converted to ASCII code, and then transformed into a binary format for laser transmission. For more complex data types, such as images, we employ Base64 encoding, ensuring compatibility with the laser communication medium. Python scripts are used throughout the process for encoding, decoding, and accurate data reconstruction on the receiver end. This dual-format transmission system showcases the versatility of optical communication in handling both simple and intricate data, contributing to the advancement of communication technologies through light-based systems.
