Abstract

The comprehensive adoption of cloud computing has been able to yield unparalleled scalability, flexibility, and efficiency in the conduct of operations for organizations in today's data-driven landscape. However, virtualized cloud environments, wherein resources are dynamically allocated and shared, introduce their own challenges with regard to the integrity, confidentiality, and access control of data. This paper adopts a comparative research methodology through which it systematically analyzes the encryption techniques and mechanisms of access control to identify the most effective security solutions for virtualized environments. This research will critically evaluate various encryption methods-symmetric, asymmetric, and homomorphic encryption-access control models such as RBAC, ABAC, and MFA, all in a structured, comparative performance regarding scalability and security. The results clearly show that an integrated approach using advanced encryption techniques with flexible access controls allows for optimal data protection without compromising the operational efficiency of the platform. Consequently, this gives important insights into the implementation of secure data protection frameworks that are scalable on virtualized cloud environments.
