The use of IoT and 5G in smart cities: the future city will continue to transform and be automatically tied up to respond to the sustainability of urban development. IoT extends the connectivity between devices and sensors to capture data in urban scenarios for more efficient information processing and application. With 5G dense connectivity, enormous capacity, low latency, and supporting multiple connected devices, these technologies create new opportunities for OSM. Some main uses include smart mobility, green buildings, smart waste, and public safety initiatives to explain methods of making processes more efficient and resource-friendly. This research analyzes how the blend of IoT and 5G can help change urban life by diminishing traffic, pollution, and energy consumption. Moreover, it also defines specific challenges, such as high costs related to infrastructure construction or data protection issues and the requirement of platform interoperability. It is a guide to utilizing these technologies effectively that sources research from successful case examples and frameworks for replicable models. These findings suggest a fundamental lesson for policymakers, private actors, and technology suppliers because the obstacles and limitations should and can be addressed together. Finally, this integration helps the emergence of progressive city management that improves global sustainability trends by contributing to environmental efficiency and increasing the quality of life in urban areas.
